Beauty Detox

Beauty Detox

Here lately, I have gone crazy with beauty products. Way too crazy! My closet is overflowing. Less than half of my products are in this picture. And most of these, I’ve gotten in the last couple months. I love beauty products, but I really need to calm down when buying them. You can only use so many. After that, it’s just overkill. I hope to do some spring cleaning soon. Hopefully in the future, I will be able to control myself when it comes to beauty products. Does anyone else have this problem? I read tons of magazines every month, and I’m a sucker for the ads in them. If a product guarantees to make my hair smoother, my skin softer, my face brighter, I’m in. But not all products work for me, and I always seem to go back to the same thing. I’m thinking that from now on, I’ll stick to what I know works and just have a little fun with other products.

My Niece Junia (and this weekend’s happenings)

As promised, here are some photos of my beautiful niece. I took these when she was just eight days old. What a sweetheart? I just love her so much! But as for me, this weekend has been fun and productive so far. Yesterday, I went to lunch and then went shopping with my best friend. It’s always great catching up with her, since she lives on campus in Columbus. We had a great time hanging out. Last night, I enjoyed a relaxing evening with my fiancĂ©. He bought me a dozen yellow roses and made us dinner. How romantic? We spent the rest of the evening watching Netflix and cuddling. Perfect! Today, I went shopping with my brother and bought a new cell phone. I’m finally out of the stone ages. I have unlimited texts and calls. What freedom? After returning home, I applied to a bunch of places in hopes that I will land my dream job! I also watched my niece today. Other than that, I’ve just been catching up on some important things I needed to get done this weekend. The rest of my weekend shall be quite relaxing and enjoyable. I hope all of you have a nice weekend too!

Date Night

July 29, 2012 § 2 Comments

Last Wednesday, Chad and I finally got to go on a date. It was marvelous! I got off work at 2 p.m. and headed straight to his house. We grabbed a quick lunch at home and then headed to Hot Pots to paint some pottery. We painted mugs for each other. I hope they turn out great. We will get them back this week. After painting pottery, we headed to dinner at Grinders. We got some fancy drinks. He got gourmet hot chocolate, and I ordered a divine peach tea. Our meals were delicious! After dinner, we headed to the mall and planned on walking around before our movie started. But we only ended up going to one store: Bath and Body Works. We were smelling candles and just having fun being together and acting silly. We then noticed the time and headed to see the Dark Knight Rises. That movie was soooooo good! We headed home after the movie and spent some quality time together just talking. What a lovely date night?! I can’t wait till the next one!

My Secret To Clear Skin

July 25, 2012 § 6 Comments

Recently I switched up my skincare routine, and I’m very happy with the results. In the morning, I use The Body Shop’s aloe calming facial cleanser followed by Arbonne’s FC5 mattifying powder (1). I dab on a bit of concealer if needed. Throughout the day, I wipe off excess oil with napkins. At bedtime, I use the same cleanser, followed by the aloe calming toner. I put a bit of Clearasil acne treatment cream all over my face (2). I make sure not to use too much so that my face won’t dry out. And every night, I use a different pillow case so that I never lay my face on a dirty one (3). And since I’ve been doing this, my face is clearing up very quickly!

New Found Love: Vanilla Chai Tea

July 18, 2012 § 12 Comments

While at the grocery store picking up some things for Chad’s upcoming birthday, I found myself walking down the coffee and tea aisle. That aisle always attracts me to it somehow. While I was wandering down the aisle in search of nothing in particular, the teas got my attention. I saw a box of white chai tea. I lifted it and smelled it. It smelled so divine! On the shelf below was vanilla chai. It smelled great, too! I decided to grab both boxes and headed to the checkout. As soon as I got home, I made the vanilla chai tea, added a bit of milk and some sugar. It was amazing! I’ll be trying the white tea tomorrow!
