Reflecting On The Good Old Days

My dad & his family

(my dad on his mom’s lap and the rest of his family)

As promised, here are some photos I took with my new lens! The focus is amazing!!! But this past weekend was crazy. My parents got new bedroom furniture, so I got their old furniture (which I’m not super excited about). I spent the weekend rearranging my room, working on homework and spending time with family. While moving the furniture from my parents room to my room, my mother and I came across some old photos and momentos in his drawers. I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the cards my siblings and I made for him! My sister wrote multiple cards that said my dad should bake a cake (actually it said bak a cake, but you get the picture). Anyways, enjoy!

Saturday Six

Saturday Six

(1. Nutella, 2. My newly decorated shelves, 3. e.l.f. eye shadow book, 4. Easter basket, 5. Easter wreath, 6. Pink grapefruit body scrub)

Well tomorrow is Easter, and I don’t feel ready for it. I can’t believe it’s already April. Time is just going by so fast. Bad things and good things have been going on lately. And I can only hope for better things to come, especially this May (since my birthday is May 14th). As for the bad things, read yesterday’s post. As for the good things, I got a new camera lens this week! It is a 35 mm f/1.8 Nikon lens. I love it more than anything (well, not more than my fiance or family, but pretty close)! It is exactly what I have always wanted. The day I got my camera, I wanted a lens of this quality. I was able to get it with a little help from my fiance and my sister and brother-in-law. (It’s kinda an early birthday present!) Anyways, I’ve been playing around with it for the past couple days non-stop. I should’ve been working on papers, but I’ve got time for those. Haha! Monday’s post will showcase some photos taken with my brand new lens! I hope all of you have a Happy Easter!

Saturated Thoughts

Saturated Sky

(photo from last March behind my neighbor’s house)

My mind is filled with as many thoughts as the saturation of this photo. I have so much going on lately, and time just doesn’t slow down. And on top of everything else going on, I can’t stop thinking about this Nikon camera lens I want more than anything. I love photography so much. I just hate when I’m in low-light and my lens doesn’t give me the results I want. This lens has a bigger range in aperture, which is exactly what I need. And I’m photographing a wedding in May. So if I got this now, I’d have plenty of time to experiment and get to know the lens. Hopefully, if I’ve done my calculations right, I might (just might) be able to get this for myself! If not, here’s to wishing.

Where Am I?
