My Hectic Life
March 14, 2013 § 2 Comments
First of all, let me say that I’m sorry I haven’t posted in about four months. That is awful! Now let me explain why. In November, I was finishing up my fall semester at Kent State University. While that was hectic in itself, I was also hunting for an internship. Luckily for me, I applied, interviewed and received an internship with The Canton Repository. I am currently a page designer there. I mainly work on the Your Life section and the special Friday insert titled Ticket. I love working on those pages! I sometimes do local pages, as well. I’m just so grateful that I was able to get an internship (and it’s paid!).
Other than working three days a week, I am also finishing up my classes. I am taking two online geography classes this semester, and I will graduate May 11th. I can’t wait! Even though I can’t wait to graduate, I’m also terrified for the future. I have been applying for jobs everywhere. Hopefully one will come through just as my internship did. As for my after graduation plans, right now, I have none! That’s so sad. I just hope to get a job in my career field. And after I get a job, my fiancé and I will be able to finally set a wedding date. That will be so exciting. We’ve set so many wedding dates only to have them crushed by unexpected expenses and life in general. Once we both have steady jobs, wedding planning will be much easier. Here’s to hoping we’ll be married before 2015!
On top of my internship and classes, I’ve started working out. It’s no big deal, but I’m feeling much better about myself and my health. Now if only the weather will warm up so that I can run again. That would be lovely! In my spare time, I’ve been reading magazines and going overboard with beauty products. The beauty splurge needs to stop soon. I’m addicted, and I now have a closet full of hairsprays, perfumes, mascaras, lotions, lipsticks, etc. Crazy!! I haven’t had much time to take photos, sadly. I’ve been using my iPod for most of my pictures which is terrible compared to my big NIkon and little Canon cameras. I hope to change that soon.
And on my weekends, I’ve also been super busy. I never just sit at home anymore like I used to. Every single weekend, I’m out doing something. Whether it’s shopping, going on a date, getting my hair done, watching my niece (I’ll get to that in a minute), hanging out with family or friends, or heading to a party, I’m always busy enjoying life.
As I mentioned above, I now have a niece. She is as beautiful as a baby can be, and she holds a special part in all of my family members’ hearts. My sister had three miscarriages (that we know of) until the doctors found out why she was unable to carry a baby to term. Once the doctors found the problem, it was easily (well not so easy for my sister) fixed. She had to give herself a shot everyday since she had a blood clotting problem. With the shots, she was able to carry the baby full term, and she delivered a beautiful 7 lbs 4oz, 19 3/4 inches long baby girl. We met baby Junia Loreen an hour after she was born. January 3rd was a magical day for my sister and brother-in-law, and we’ve loved little Junia Petunia since!! (I will try to upload pictures soon!)
But that’s it for now. I hope to keep up with this better than I have been. If I post at least once a week, I’ll feel much better!
An Exciting Wedding Weekend

As I mentioned yesterday, I photographed a wedding. I met Josh and Stephanie back in August after they contacted me about photographing their wedding. We met again in March to look at the church and reception hall. Well, yesterday was finally the big day. Stephanie looked beautiful, and Josh could not have been prouder to have Stephanie as his wife. The day was beautiful, and I’m really glad I got to capture it for them. Above are some of the detail shots. (I’m still editing lots more pictures from the day.)

When I came home from the wedding, I found a huge stack of stuff for me that came in the mail. I got my Elle magazine and three of the books I ordered on Amazon (True Whit by Whitney Port, Style by Lauren Conrad, and Influence by Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen). It was a great ending to a great day. As for today, I’ve spent most of my day editing photos, and I will continue to do so.
Tiffany-Themed Bridal Shower (Photos)

As promised, here are some photos from the bridal shower I recently photographed. The shower lasted from 11:00-2:00 p.m., which was perfect for the bride’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme. The tables were decorated with Valerie & Co. bags full of white tulips, strands of pearls and of course, diamonds (clear and Tiffany blue). The bride, Valerie, was dressed like Audrey Hepburn, and the guests enjoyed a beautiful brunch at The Quarry. After brunch, everyone enjoyed beautiful cupcakes, and then the groom surprised the bride with flowers! How sweet?! Then the couple started opening the many presents. Somewhere in there, the bride introduced her bridal party, and some surprise gifts were given while the couple opened presents. The event was beautiful, and even the littlest guests had a great time. Valerie and her fiance, Dan, are getting married June 23! I’m excited that I got to be a part of their journey, and I’m happy to get to photograph their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner too! I wish them lots of happiness and hope that these last two months are stress-free and go by quickly for them!

Sunday Ramblings

Well today went great! I photographed a very beautiful bridal shower, which was a first for me. I have been editing since I got home around 2:45, and the photos look great. The bride had a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme, and it was gorgeous. I still have a lot of editing to do, so later in the week I will write a post showcasing the beautiful decorations from the party. But this bridal shower really got me thinking about mine. I’d love to have my fiance show up in the middle to open presents with me. The bride today did that, and I absolutely loved the idea. I’d also like to have my guests write down marriage advice. Well that’s all I really have to say about the bridal shower. Other than that, I’ve been eating way too much ice cream lately, and I’m already over school. Let’s hope I make it through my last week of classes and finals week.
Life’s Too Fast

So, my life is going a bit too fast right now. I just want everything to slow down a little. It seems like I’m always doing something, and yet I’m staying on top of everything. But I just don’t have time to relax, which sucks.
I’ve been wedding planning a lot, and my fiance and I got into a huge fight. I hate that I’m planning everything on my own, or so it seems. He’s just always working. But we worked through everything together, and we’re on the right track. My parents booked the venue for the wedding today, and that’s super exciting! I can’t wait till the big day.
And my internships are going pretty good. I’m just very busy, always writing new posts. And then I write posts on here for fun. Crazy?! But I made the design above for my Lovelyish internship. I wrote a post about the six products I’d love to try right now. I really want to try the dry shampoo from Victoria’s Secret. I’ve heard great things about it. Who knows if I’ll ever get to try all six products. A girl can dream can’t she?
If you’ve tried any of those products, let me know how you like them!
