Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday, and I shall celebrate! I have no idea what is in store for this day. All I know is that I want to be happy and have fun. Let the festivities begin!

 

Not According to Plan

As I mentioned in a previous post, life hasn’t been all that happy for me lately. After almost five and a half years of dating, Chad and I have split. Although this comes as a shock to everyone, I think it’s for the best. We’re still friends, and we’re open to the thought of trying to get back together. We were just so very young when we started dating. Juniors in high school do not know exactly what they want forever. We’ve grown, we’ve changed, we’ve tried new things, we’ve just started to really find ourselves.

For me, I have to be 100 percent sure about things. I had many doubts in our relationship, and there were many things that weren’t quite right in my eyes. I was too controlling, and he had his problems. (I won’t mention them for his sake.) From now on, we’re both going to do what makes us happy. I’ve realized more of what I want from life, and I’m going after that. If we happen to date again, it will be totally different since we’re different people now. As for now, we’re still friends and we’re still close. We were best friends before we got together, and as of right now, we’re still best friends.

I’m just glad that we’re still friends. And I’m proud that we both graduated with honors. I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Visual Journalism with a concentration in information design, and he graduated cum laude with a Zoology degree. We pushed each other to be our very best in college. I’m glad we got to have the time together that we did, and I hope that life will bring us both what we want. Here’s to new beginnings!

I Graduated!

Yesterday marked a very important day for me. I graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University with a Visual Journalism degree with a concentration in information design. The day was so much more exciting than I thought it would be (especially since I’ve been dealing with a lot of emotional stress this past week).

Rough Patch

Life isn’t always smooth sailing. I’ve hit a rough patch, but I’m working through it and hope that the outcome is better than before. I’m trying something new, and if it doesn’t work, then I’ll know it’s not meant to be. Wish me luck as I start something new, and don’t be too upset if the posts aren’t as often this week.

 

Gloomy days

Although it has been really gloomy outside today, I’ve managed to get a lot accomplished. I love when it’s sunny, but when it is, I never seem to have motivation. I get stuff done, but when it’s gloomy, I have nothing better to do than get everything done so that I can relax and watch a movie. Is anyone else like that? So far today, I have ran three miles on the treadmill, edited some photos and designed and printed my graduation party invitations. Now onto learning more about web design, messaging back a friend, painting my nails and reading the latest Allure magazine. With the way the weather looks, I will have no problem finishing everything.
