I’d Rather Be Doing This…
April 10, 2012 § 19 Comments
Lately the weather has been cold, and I just want to relax. I’ve finished almost all of my projects for the semester, and I’m beat. I’m busier than I have ever been in my life. My classes are all upper division classes, I’m currently doing two internships, I’m planning my wedding, I’ve got some photography jobs lined up for the near future, I’m frantically applying for any and all internships for this summer and I’ve been scheduling time for this personal blog (which includes: writing posts, taking photographs for posts, reading other posts, etc.), along with saving some time to spend with my fiance. While doing all of this, I’m also trying to stay sane! But more than anything, I just want to curl up in bed with some magazines and chocolate. I’d love to get a nice nap in and maybe watch some movies. It might be nice to finish reading my Better Homes and Gardens issue from last month or catch up on the book I started reading in January. Not to mention, the issues of Entertainment Weekly and Cosmopolitan that just came in the mail for me. But, I’ll keep pushing through. Only 24 more days till I’m done with this busy semester!

Hello, Kelsey!
What is your advice to someone who needs, just like you, to do several things in such a short time without running the risk of suffering from a “burn out syndrome” at the end of a journey?
All the best in your life!

Thanks for the comment. I would suggest to have a goal or something to look forward to after the busy-ness is over. I set weekly goals for myself, and I also have my birthday to look forward to. And each week, I set aside a little bit of time for myself, whether it is for shopping, reading or taking photographs (or other fun stuff that I enjoy). Just remember to take little breaks in between projects or tasks. It really helps!
Thank you very much for your kind answer, Kelsey! Be sure that it helped me
It’s so nice to be able to share our personal experiences…
Flávio.
I couldn’t agree more, Flavio!
Is a true fact that I love your blog and your kindness with your readers, Kelsey. So, in my blog I put a link to yours (check it out a box called “Sources of knowledge, appreciation and inspiration” in my blog’s right sidebar). Hope you like this little gesture of esteem!
Kindly,
Flávio.
Oh wow! I feel so honored. Thank you so much! I really do appreciate it!

You’re welcome! I’m very glad that you liked it!
Kelsey,
I feel your pain (only in a different way)! So easy to get burned out. Take ONE day for yourself! You will feel refreshed and ready for a few more busy days!
All my best,
Shelly
Shelly,
Thanks for the tip! I know. I always have fears of getting burned out. I feel that I am going through that right now, that is why I have switched up my schedule a bit so that I have some more time for myself to do the things I love.
I feel exactly like you! Busy Busy Busy! Its a good thing tho, because when the time comes to relax, we really enjoy it. When are you getting married?? I am awful awful at reading other blogs and I really want to do better! I am excited to look more at your blog and photography! lately I have had a strong urge to want to do some photography!
Chelsea,
Thanks for checking out my blog! Yeah, I really really enjoying relaxing! I’m getting married next September. (We got engaged December of 2009, so we’re definitely ready to get married!!!) Yeah, I’m really trying to read other blogs too! Photographing is so fun! Hopefully you find some time to fit that in your busy schedule!
wow your waiting almost 4 years to get married?? thats a long time! But that gives you a lot of time to get to know eachother really well! I thought our 4.5 month engagement was long haha! Have you started planning anything?? thats so exciting! and yes I really want to start a bit of photography. I need to learn how to work a really really nice camera. Do you know what kind I should get as a starter?
Yes, it is a long engagement. But we’re so in love that time doesn’t matter!
And yes, almost everything is already planned. I have my dress, the venue is booked, the invitations are bought, the centerpieces and flowers are done, etc.
As for a camera, I use a Nikon D3000. I just recently bought a new lens (a 35mm f/1.8), and it is everything I’ve ever hoped for!!! I suggest either Nikon or Canon. Mine cost $600 for the camera starter kit. The kit came with the camera body and lens. It’s great to learn on, but if you have money to get a better lens (like the one I just got), I’d say do it!
wow thanks for all that camera info! I am going to save up fo sho! I will probably start with a the $600 one and then work up from there haha.
It sounds like marriage is definately worth the wait! Thats awesome! I bet everything you planned will be gorgeous!
You’re welcome for the camera help. I was there once too, and nobody really helped me. So I’m glad I could help you!
No matter what, I love everything I’ve planned for my big day! (Who cares if my guests don’t like my color palette or flower choice. haha!)
And yes, I think marriage will definitely be worth the wait!
Tell me! Whats your color Pallete! do you have a blog post about it? link link
No, I don’t have a blog post about it. But I’m having royal blue as the main color with lime green and a hint of lilac. I love hydrangeas so that’s part of the reasoning for the colors!!
gorg! Love it! My colors are yellow, navy blue, and white! with lots of meadow flowers!
Oh that sounds beautiful!!
